  • In Arcachon, few places are better than the beach, especially in the summer. The beaches are safe, clean, and open to the public. When you get hungry, there are plenty of bars and restaurants within walking distance.

  • Dune du Pilat



  • Dune du Pilat claims to be the largest sand dune in Europe. It's also one of the most popular tourist attractions in town, with over one-million visitors a year. This is a great family friendly activity while you're in town.

  • Cap-Ferret



  • If you want to get out on the water, take a boat ride. In the warmer months, guides will take you out fishing and sight-seeing. You can also take a ferry to Cap-Ferret. There, you can visit the famous lighthouse or stop by the resort and grab a glass of wine. Cap-Ferret is one of the most visited beaches in Arcachon, so get there early if you intend on reserving a spot.

  • The shoppers in your group should head to Le Moulleau. There, you can find botique shops, as well as beachfront restaurants. If you're tired of getting sand on your clothes, grab a table at an outdoor cafe and take in the view from a distance.
