With very little fanfare, [[ AirTran | AirTran ]] recently raised some of its baggage fees to bring its fee structure more in line with competitors.

A second checked bag on AirTran, previously $10 online and $20 at the airport, is now $25 in all instances. Checked bags weighing 51 to 70 pounds are now $39 (up from $29), while bags weighing 71 to 100 pounds are now $79 (up from $69).
