A Camera
Maine's gorgeous Acadia National Park is a place you must visit if you love outdoor activities and camping. To make sure you're prepared when you go, follow these packing list essentials from past park visitors.
The ground tends to be damp all year, so wear sturdy hiking boots or sandals with strong grips for safety. Make sure the clothing you take is practical and comfortable. Temperatures vary, so pack layers. In the summer, most days you'll be comfortable in shorts and a tank top, and bring a bathing suit for swimming. For the evening or windy days, though, you'll want long sleeves and a light jacket. During cooler months, keep yourself warm with fleece, vests, and gloves and a hat. A rain jacket or poncho is essential year round.
Clothes to Pack
Bring safety equipment typical for being in the wilderness. A first aid kit, compass, water bottle, flashlight, and important personal medications are all essentials for hiking in Acadia. The sun is strong, even on cloudy days, so you'll also need sunscreen.
Toiletries to Pack
Most visitors appreciate having a high quality camera with a wide angle lens with them to capture panoramic views. Binoculars are also a great item to have.
