After much anticipation and hype, the Queen Victoria—[% 9732 | | Cunard’s %] newest and second largest ship—has received its name and will set sail today on its maiden voyage.
In a ceremony yesterday afternoon, HRH The Duchess of Cornwall (aka Camilla Parker-Bowles) named the ship, carrying on the tradition of members of the royal family naming Cunard ships. Her husband, Prince Charles, was in attendance.
I have yet to see this famous new vessel, but you can find some great first looks on the Internet. USAToday.com has posted some comments and criticisms about the look and feel of the Queen Victoria, and Cruise Critic also offers a sneak peak. And for some live action footage of the christening ceremony, visit ExpertCruiser.com.
