Tips on Salou Warnings or Dangers – Stay Safe!

Salou Warnings and Dangers

Fun Salou is just the place for a getaway along the Spanish coast. However, be mindful of occasional floods and the large crowds that make it necessary to book in advance. Keep in mind the weather can turn nasty sometimes and the surf can get rough so pick your beaches carefully.

Floods

Water is the lifeblood of Salou. However, it’s also sometimes a source of misery. Heavy rains are not uncommon. When that happens, the streets can easily get flooded. If you’re asked to evacuate, leave as soon as possible as the waters can be sudden, swift and even deadly.

Book in Advance

Salou is a popular place, especially during the summer months. If a trip to this golden coast is on your agenda, make sure you make plans at least a month in advance. Many hotels fill up as early as six months in advance. Buy tickets to the popular water parks and amusement park well in advance. Do this online and you’ll save both time and money.

Rough Surf

On occasion the surf in Salou can get fierce. While windsurfing is a popular activity, when the wind picks up, it can pick up the waters as well. Be mindful of the weather. If you see signs indicating particularly churning waves, it’s best to stay closer to the shore. If you have young children, stick to the beaches that are known to be more sheltered. Llenguadets and Llarga beaches are smaller and offer many coves where you can find more secluded and safer swimming. They are are protected from other weather by rows of pine trees.
