Doha Shopping – Shops, Stores, Best Buys & Inside Tips

Doha Shopping

Doha has great shopping for food, jewelry, and clothes. Keep in mind that alcohol is illegal in all of Qatar. If you’re looking for antiques, food, clothes, or art, check out these shops and areas:

Souq Waqif

Souq Waqif is the traditional ‘standing souq’ that evolved from the old street markets and is close to the port. It is most famous for its perfume shops and stalls that offer both the most exclusive fragrances from the west and the attars and essential oils popular in Arabia.
Souq Waqif is also full of shops selling all kinds of kitchen utensils, clothes, antiques, and candy. They also have Falcon Centers where you can touch and take photos of live falcons. Prices are negotiable.

The City Centre Mall

If you need to pick up forgotten travel items, or everyday clothes, check out The City Centre Mall – located in the heart of West Bay. This mall is very similar to a mall you would see in the west – there’s a movie theater, food, and low and high-end shops you would expect. Parking cost money unless you have a receipt from one of the stores – then parking is compensated.

The Pearl Guy

This family-owned shop has a wide array of pearls, in all forms of natural colors and sizes. It was an educational experience to visit.
A father-sun duo runs the shop, and they both love to educate their customers about the wares. This shop is the best local source for pearls, and the prices are far below that of any of the Souqs.
