Henry F. Hauser Museum

The museum centers around information about Henry F. Hauser, an important war general from the area and one of the town’s most important mayors. There are also rotating exhibits about famous events in the town’s history. Entry to the museum is free.

The San Pedro House

This house was originally built by a cattle company in the 1930s to house their ranch manager. It is located in the conservation area of the Riparian valley and looks the same as it did in the 1930s. One interesting part of the tour is the children’s play house and in the main house, there is a helpful information center.

The San Pedro Riparian National Conservation Area

This area has been deemed a conservation area by Congress since 1988 and extends all the way out to he Mexican border. The San Pedro river is the most important natural resource in the area and it flows right through the Riparian Conservation Area. Bird-watchers from all over come to this conservation area as it is the hummingbird capital of the world.

See the Great Tree of Arizona

The ranch manager in 1948 that lived at the San Pedro house planted a cottonwood tree near the house that still stands today. It measures 36 feet around. The tree is impossible to miss from the road when driving up to the San Pedro house.
