Things to Do in Kuwait, Kuwait

Kuwait Things to Do

Kuwait is much more than just a country attacked by Iraq in the early 1990’s. Kuwait is a vibrant Middle Eastern country that has plenty of things to do for tourists and we’ve narrowed down the list to the most popular things to do.

Kuwait’s Architecture

Middle Eastern countries love their architecture and tall buildings. Kuwait is no exception with the popular Kuwait Towers looking out onto the Persian Gulf. The main tower houses a restaurant, lounge, and a revolving cafe. Plus, the floor of the observation deck rotates a full 360 degrees in 10 minutes, giving you an amazing view.

Another popular tower is The Liberation Tower in Kuwait City. The tower recognizes Kuwait’s freedom from Iraq following the Gulf War. The tower consists of a telecommunications outlet, a revolving observatory, and a restaurant. This is a key destination for travelers.

Kuwait’s Markets

Kuwait offers Western food from McDonald’s and other American restaurants. But to really experience Kuwait’s cuisine, you should visit the local markets.

One of the most exciting destinations is the fish market. You can haggle with vendors on their prices, which is part of the cultural experience visiting a Middle Eastern country. Also, a popular dish in Kuwait is a small platter of leaf rolls and a serving of hummus with plenty of bread.

Other Things To Do in Kuwait

One of the most obvious and best things to do in Kuwait, is visiting the beach. The Corniche is one of Kuwait’s main attractions with a great view of the Persian Gulf. The beach is easily accessible by car, then you can walk in the sand while listening to the waves. If you are traveling with your family, you can enjoy a picnic along the beach. Just don’t forget a jacket during the winter months.

Finally, there is history. Kuwait has so much history that is documented at the Kuwait National Library and Babtain Library. You can learn a great deal about Kuwait’s culture, history, and life before and after the oil boom that transformed the Middle East.
