2007 marks the 100th anniversary of Pike Place Market, and it’s celebrating with a year of special events. The main celebrations will run from the first day of spring to the official anniversary on August 17. The market is already a pretty festive place to be, with farmers’ markets, flying fish, and festivals, so imagine the good times a centennial will warrant. A note on the website says more information will be available as the time draws closer. But I wanted to post this now so that if you’re planning a trip to Seattle next year, you’ll know to keep an eye out for birthday festivities whenever you visit.
