Miami is a popular vacation destination year-round, but the summer humidity and chance of hurricanes keep some travelers away. However, the warmer months can be a great time to visit the city, though, since the beaches and local attractions are less crowded than during peak season. And this summer, discounts should be easy to find because of a potential surplus of rooms due to new hotels and a drop in overnight visitors.
I compared airfare to Miami, and found savings of up to $96 during the off-peak season.
| Route | Off-Peak Rate | Peak Rate |
|---|---|---|
| Philadelphia to Miami | $235 | $331 |
| Denver to Miami | $339 | $352 |
| San Francisco to Miami | $309 | $388 |
Off-peak nightly rates are based on travel from August 17 to 24; peak travel nightly rates are based on travel from February 15 to 22. All fares were found using Expedia and include all taxes and fees.
