Virgin America's First Boston Arrival Taxis to the Gate

Virgin America's first flight arrived carrying special cargo: Virgin founder Sir Richard Branson along with many folks that will comprise the airline's Boston team. From Boston, the airline will fly to Los Angeles and San Francisco. But the arrival marked more than just the airline's new service from Beantown: Virgin's Boston flights will be the carrier's first with onboard Wi-Fi, which the airline hopes to have on all flights within months.

Competition on those West Coast routes is likely to be intense, particularly between Virgin and JetBlue. Shortly after Virgin announced its move to Boston in December, both American and JetBlue increased service from Beantown, including flights to Los Angeles and San Francisco.
