Dear Editor,
Where can I find discounted first- or business-class tickets?
L.S.
Dear Reader,
In general, SmarterTravel.com covers primarily economy-class airfare sales, and offers advice for budget travelers. However, in recent weeks we've received several questions regarding business- and first-class fares, so we turned to the experts to answer your question.
SmarterTravel.com columnist and consumer travel advocate Ed Perkins shared a list of a dozen or so discount agencies that specialize in business- and first-class tickets. The fares offered by these sites offer discounts of up to 50 percent off the regular fare. Some of these sites do not list fares; instead, travelers have to submit a request for a price quote and wait for a response from the company.
Keep in mind that Perkins has not used many of these sites, so he (and SmarterTravel.com) cannot vouch for their reliability. Remember to always pay with a credit card in order to protect yourself.

If you're a frequent flyer, we suggest subscribing to First Class Flyer. A subscription (which ranges from $24.50 to $187 per year, at the time of publication) entitles you to an e-mail newsletter with fare alerts, news, and tips about how to find unpublished first- and business-class fares.
