CDC Lifts Mexico Travel Warning

The U.S. Centers for Disease Control (CDC) has downgraded its warning against non-essential Mexico travel to a travel precaution. The travel precaution focuses on advice to people at risk for flu complications. High risk travelers include young children (under 5), people older than 65, pregnant women, and people with other underlying health issues.

From a discount standpoint, there’s likely to be a window of at least a month where we’ll see dramatic sales as hotels, airlines, and vacation providers try to jump-start tourism. Last week, I covered some of the new Mexico travel sales, and now that the CDC has downgraded its warning, the sale trend should continue until bookings begin to rebound.
