It’s September, and although several places have already launched this year’s Pumpkin Spice Latte, to most, September is the official start of all things fall, especially pumpkin spice. While you are on the road, you’ll want to know where you can get pumpkin spice lattes, and what pumpkin snacks you should bring with you. From drinks, food, and even deodorant, we’ve got your guide to everything pumpkin spice.
Before Starbucks made it “famous,” pumpkin pie spice was widely used in baking in kitchens across the world. According to Betty Crocker, pumpkin pie spice is made up of 3 tablespoons ground cinnamon, 2 teaspoons ground ginger, 2 teaspoons ground nutmeg, 1 ½ teaspoons ground allspice and 1 ½ teaspoons ground cloves.

The place that started it all, Starbucks, launched the PSL in 2003, and ever since then, it has become a staple every fall. They also have the Pumpkin Cream Cold Brew, Pumpkin Spice Frappuccino, and a pumpkin scone. This year, they have also introduced an Apple Crisp Macchiato if you are looking for something different, or *gasp* aren’t a pumpkin fan.
Although Dunkin’ has had pumpkin donuts for a while, it wasn’t until last year that they launched their own version of the Pumpkin Spice Latte. They also have pumpkin-flavored coffee, a Pumpkin Cream Cold Brew, and Pumpkin Donuts, MUNCHKINS® Donut Hole Treats, and Muffins.
Yes, you read that right. McDonald’s jumped on the bandwagon a few years ago. Their McCafé® Pumpkin Spice Latte quickly became a favorite and is perfect when you are in a bind and can’t find a Starbucks or other coffee shop nearby.
Many regional chains and local coffee shops have their versions of the PSL, including Caribou Coffee, Peet’s, Coffee Bean and Tea Leaf, Biggby, Dutch Bros, and La Colombe.

I don’t know about you, but Trader Joe’s sees me coming a mile away when their pumpkin line launches every fall. At the time of publication, they haven’t yet released their pumpkin products, but you can rest assured that it is coming. Get ready for pumpkin cinnamon rolls, cereal, cream cheese, bagels, crackers, waffle mix, and much, much more.
