Colorado Springs Travel Guide

Why Visit Colorado Springs

At an elevation of more than 6,000 feet above sea level, Colorado's second biggest city is a launching pad for outdoor adventures. The hiking trails around nearby Pikes Peak give active travelers plenty to do, and anyone can enjoy the must-see splendor of the Garden of the Gods.

When to Visit Colorado Springs

People visit Colorado Springs in the winter for its central location near many popular ski resorts. In summer, visitors come for the hundreds of miles of hiking trails and open spaces. Visit in spring and fall for the cool, crisp weather and smaller, more manageable crowds.

Colorado Springs Weather

Colorado Springs sees snow from November through April. The months of December and January are the coldest, with average highs in the teens, and March tends to get the most snowfall. In summer, average temps reach into the 80s Fahrenheit. Lightning strikes are common.
