Omaha Travel Guide

Why Visit Omaha

You have to visit Omaha to really get a feel for how a small pioneer-era city has evolved into a thriving, diverse metropolis home to just under 500,000 people. From dozens of works of public art to a concert venue where Count Basie once played, Omaha is full of fun surprises. Don't miss the Old Market district for shopping and dining.

When to Visit Omaha

Book your Omaha travel around one of the city’s many major annual events and watch the populace come alive. The biggest draw is probably the NCAA Men’s College World Series every June, but the Taste of Omaha in May and December’s Holiday Lights Festival are also memorable examples of the best the “Gateway to the West” has to offer.

Omaha Weather

The weather in Omaha runs the gamut from bone-chilling 13-degree lows in January to sunny 86-degree highs in July. April, May, and June are technically the rainy season, although May gets the brunt of it with an average nine days of precipitation. Summer is humid with frequent thunderstorms, while winter sees about 30 inches of snow.
