Chase Credit Card Sign-Up Bonus: 70,000 Points

The Chase Sapphire Preferred and Chase Ink Business Plus credit cards have established a place for themselves among the most useful of the travel-rewards cards, based in large part on the flexibility of the Ultimate Rewards points which can be exchanged for points in 11 travel loyalty programs.

For a limited time, the sign-up bonus for the Chase Ink Business Plus card has been upped to 70,000 points after spending $5,000 within three months. When redeemed for travel through Ultimate Rewards, the points are worth $875. When the points are transferred to other programs, they could be worth considerably more, depending on how they’re redeemed.

Card details:

  • Points transfer 1:1 to British Airways, Korean, Singapore, Southwest, United, Virgin Atlantic, Hyatt, IHG, Marriott, Ritz-Carlton
  • Earn five points per $1 at for charges at office supply stores and for cellphone, landline, Internet, and cable TV
  • Earn two points per $1 for charges at gas stations, hotels
  • No foreign transaction fees
  • $95 annual fee

There’s no published end date for this sign-up bonus so it could be scaled back at any time — most likely to 50,000 points, which has been the standard offer for this card.

(When applying for a “business credit card,” pretty much any endeavor — no matter how part time or financially unproductive — will qualify as a small business.)
