JetBlue Partners with Turkish Airlines

JetBlue and Turkish Airlines have entered into a new interline agreement. The carriers will connect at JFK and Dulles International Airport, providing U.S. flyers with easier access to a host of new European destinations.

According to a post on JetBlue’s blog, “This summer, Turkish will offer three daily nonstop flights from JFK to Istanbul and one daily flight from Dulles to Istanbul, with transfer via either U.S. city between Turkish Airlines- and JetBlue-operated flights while enjoying one-stop ticketing and check-in plus hassle-free baggage transfer and other benefits.”

Most foreign airlines operate more flights to JFK than to Newark, and JetBlue is an ideal network partner at that major gateway. The discount airline operates its largest hub and is the primary domestic carrier at JFK.

As we’ve noted here before, Turkish has an excellent reputation, earning “Best in Europe” honors in the most recent Skytrax ratings. With this new agreement, the Star Alliance can provide partnership tickets from JetBlue’s many domestic cities to destinations just about anywhere in Europe or the Middle East.

This deal should be a win-win for all the airlines involved.
