America’s Snobbiest City Is…

Which city is going to make you feel the most welcome if you visit? Apparently it’s not San Francisco, as Travel + Leisure readers recently voted it as America’s snobbiest city. The survey asked readers to rate 35 major cities in areas like luxury shopping, fancy coffeehouses, “conspicuous eco-consciousness,” and aloof residents.

Travel + Leisure used the votes in those categories (plus others) to determine which city is the most stuck up, and San Francisco took first place. The California city’s foodie culture, high prices, and hipster shopping combined to make this the snobbiest city in America.

Anyone who’s ever heard someone from New York City start a sentence with, “Well, in New York…” will not be surprised that the Big Apple took the number two spot.

Big-brained Boston, home to a number of colleges and universities, came in third.

Even the Midwest was not immune to snobbery—Minneapolis/St.Paul took fourth place.
