Nova Scotia Cruise

Author: Patricia Harney
Date of Trip: August 2015

We took a cruise out of Boston to three places in Canada and two in Maine. Our first Canadian stop was Saint John’s, New Brunswick to see the reversing falls and other sights with a professional photographer.

The second stop was Halifax, Nova Scotia. We took an excursion to Peggy’s Cove with a famous lighthouse and a very picturesque fishing village.

The third port of call was Sydney on Cape Breton. Here we rented a car and traveled around on our own. We went to Baddock and did a tour around Bras de Lac.

Coming from the Boston area we did not need to tour in Portland Maine.

The last place we visited was Bar Harbor, Maine. We did a lighthouse tour as we had visited Cadillac Mountain before. We saw five or six different lighthouses as well as seals in the water and an eagle both flying and on the rocks.

A very enjoyable week aboard Holland Americas Veendam. This was our first experience with HAL cruise line it will not be our last.
