Jordan Travel Guide: What to Do in Jordan

Best Time to Go to Jordan

During summer, temperatures get quite hot (sometimes uncomfortably so) in Jordan, so it’s best to avoid traveling to the country from June through August unless you can stand the heat. Winters, by contrast, can get pretty cold in some parts of Jordan. The most popular seasons for travel to Jordan are spring and fall, when temperatures are moderate; to steer clear of crowds, avoid heading to Jordan in these seasons and consider a summer or winter trip.

Jordan on a Budget

Airfare to Jordan will likely be one of the biggest expenses on your travel budget. You’ll find the cheapest fares in summer and winter. Since tourism is big in Jordan, be prepared to pay premium prices for hotels and tours within the country. However, you can save on your trip by living like a local: take public transportation instead of taxis, and ditch the expensive restaurants in favor of falafel stands.
