Tips on Brighton Warnings and Dangers – Stay Safe!

Brighton Warnings and Dangers

This English seaside resort town is a popular spot for day-trippers to unwind. To make the most of your trip, stay safe with these tips to avoid common warnings and dangers in Brighton.

Brighton Beach Blunders

If you are afraid of heights, you may not want to explore the Brighton Pier. The planks have very slim gaps between them and allow you to see the water way down below. Don’t expect Brighton Beach to yourself, either, as the beach becomes very crowded during the summertime. Parking your car is free, but it’s very difficult to find a spot. The Beach in Brighton has hard rocks instead of soft sand, so definitely prepare yourself and bring a chair!

You may be tempted to eat your fish and chips at the beach, but don’t! The bold seagulls are infamous for snatching beach lunches (and even nipping at your toes). Speaking of birds, watch for what’s above – one might decide that your head and/or nice clothes look like the perfect place for a number 2 takeaway. Yuck! And there aren’t many public restrooms in Brighton. Watch your step, especially around light posts and fountains.

In-Town Incidences

There are some great restaurants in Brighton. However, there have always been those that cut corners on hygiene. It is now very easy to see which restaurants, cafes, and take-outs are not so good at hygiene. Brighton & Hove Council have an inspection process that results in all food establishments having their ratings clearly visible on or near their door. Five stars mean they have excellent cleanliness. Zero stars aren’t very good.

West street at night may be frightening to young children. Try to avoid it on weekends. This street is known for its drinking and rowdiness during those times, but if you do during regular day hours you are probably safe. Some areas and hotels in Brighton are also known for its all-male saunas and public viewings, so plan accordingly when booking your trip.
