There is also a legend about this cake. It is said that Donizetti was having a meal with another music composer; Rossini. He ordered his cook to make a cake as a consolation for Donizetti for his love pains. Donizetti liked this cake much. Torta di Donizetti is a simple cake sprinkled with castor sugar. You can buy it at various bakeries and confectioneries in Bergamo.

Cheap Easy Clothes Shopping OVS

I’m a long term traveler and as such found the need of cheap, basic, comfortable clothing items to replace some I brought from home and that started to wear out. OVS in Porta Nuova was perfect for this, I found everything I needed and inside my budget. Disadvantage: even in cheaper stores, Italians take clothes very seriously and I got yelled at for not returning everything I’d tried on to its correct shelf/rack. Oops.

Outlet Village

Run by Chinese or Indo-Chinese (it is next door to a Vietnamese delicatessen), open 7 days Outlet Village has mostly ladies’ and some men’s clothing and accessories at very discounted prices. A few doors down is a similar shop. Useful to know that the basement is full of luggage options of every weight and size.
