It’s everywhere including on the sides of vans, benches, billboards and store window fronts. Advertising is probably the largest industry next to the casinos. Peddlers will try to sell you explicit trading cards while picking your pocket. It’s best to ignore them and be aware of your surroundings. Also, don’t keep all your valuable with you or in the same place while you’re seeing the sights.
There are hundreds of people who come out at night and their whole job is to pass out brochures, flyers, cards, anything advertising adult entertainment. They try to deliberately stop you from walking by blocking your path. Sometimes they will follow you. The best advice is to not take anything from them and keep moving. Remember, prostitution is legal in Las Vegas. This is probably the biggest nuisance to folks visiting Las Vegas and is the one that gets the most complaints.
Stay in the well-lit areas of the strip and Fremont Street. Stay in groups or in pairs when walking down the strip. It’s best to stay arm-in-arm with your spouse or traveling companion. Otherwise you’re likely to be approached someone with a pamphlet, flyer or something. These people may try to strike a conversation with you and if so, do not give them any information about where you’re staying.
