Tips on Vienna Warnings or Dangers – Stay Safe!

Vienna Warnings and Dangers

Vienna is typically considered a safe city, which is why it is popular among tourists from all over the world, but there are a few things to keep in mind to ensure a safe and enjoyable trip. Vienna is not known for its dangers, but sticking to busy areas is one of the best ways to avoid unsavory situations.

Vendors Dressed as Mozart

You may run into Mozart throughout the city. These panhandlers, performers, or vendors dressed as Mozart are typically trying to sell tickets to a show, and are typically stationed in tourist locations, especially outside cathedrals. Saying “no” firmly is generally enough to get Mozart to move on.

Karlskirche

For excellent views over Vienna, visit Karlskirche. Once to the top of the elevator, you can climb another 25 meters of stairs for breathtaking views of the city. Be aware that your views will be through wire, so you will not be able to take great photos from the top.

Beware Cyclists

Cyclists are everywhere in Vienna and they’re fast. They do stick to their side of the path on the clearly marked pavements, so be sure you walk in the designated area. Watch for traffic signs and don’t stray to their side, as they come thick and fast.
