Tips on Kauai Warnings or Dangers – Stay Safe!

Kauai Warnings and Dangers

As beautiful and pristine as Kauai is, you need to be well-informed of the warnings and dangers that are present in order to have a safe trip.

Leaving Valuables in the Car

Whatever you do, don’t leave your valuables in your vehicle. While some people that have left their important items in the trunk have lucked out, there are others who weren’t so lucky. Leaving valuables in the car attracts thieves who are on the hunt for anything of value such as wallets and purses.

Lock your doors and take your items with you.

Hideaways Beach

The beach is ravishing, but don’t let the looks fool you. There is a steep pathway that leads to the water and the railing is not stable. A couple of tourists who were unaware of the steep pathway held onto the railing, but it broke. From there, they slid down for approximately 10 feet.

Leptospirosis

Leptospirosis is a prominent disease in Kauai. Transmission happens when in contact with water that has been contaminated with tissue of an infected animal, contaminated urine, or contaminated soil. People who become infected experience symptoms within 7 to 10 days from the time they were infected. If infected, you can have symptoms such as chills, fever, muscular pain and headaches.

Leptospirosis is a disease that must be treated or else your liver, kidneys, and even your central nervous system will be affected. The most common cause of being untreated is kidney failure. The most useful treatment is Penicillin.
