Tips On Georgia Warnings or Dangers – Stay Safe!

Georgia Warnings and Dangers

Georgia is a wonderful country with a rich history and friendly people, but just like anywhere else in the world, you should be careful.

Danger Areas

Georgia is just coming out of a very long and painful sleep, and there are still places in the country that are not safe for foreigners. Stay alert in Abkhazia. SvanetiDagestan and Chechnya are rough in some areas. Use common sense when traveling to the northern areas of Georgia. There is a fine line between being adventurous and stupid.

Marshrutka Madness

Most of the transport in Georgia is implemented by minivans called marshrutkas, and they have their good and bad points. A plus is that they are much faster than normal buses because they don’t stop nearly as often en route. On the bad side, they’re crowded and speed excessively, running the risk of getting into an accident. Most of them are labeled in Georgian, and they don’t have shock, which makes for some bumpy roads. Overall, it’s just part of the adventure!

Papers

Make sure you have your Visa in order well before you go. It will save you time and money during your trip. The embassy can take a long time to process your passport.

Be Discreet

Be a smart traveler by being aware of your personal items. Don’t flash cash – chances are someone will see you with it. Be careful traveling at night, especially if you are out partying and enjoy a few too many cocktails. You can easily become a target.
