Getting to and around Kos

Getting to and around Kos is easy. Boats and buses are plentiful from many other Greek islands as well as directly from Athens.  Direct flights area also widely available from many regional cities. Once on the island, you can get around by renting a bike, a car or a scooter.

Boats to Other Places 

The town’s central location makes it a snap to get to other parts of Turkey from by boat. A hydrofoil will bring you to Bodrum in half an hour for a day trip. Another popular day trip by boat is to the islands of Kalymnos, Pserimos and Plati,

Two Kinds of Buses 

There’s two kinds of buses. A decorative green and white train brings visitors all over Kos Town for a twenty minute tour of the town. If you want to get from Kos Town to other towns on the island, many resorts operate their own resort buses. Public buses run from various towns in Kos primarily in the morning in then in the evening. They go along the seafront. Buses also go to and from the airport. The route takes about 45 minutes.

Rent a Bicycle

Kos has many bike paths you can follow. You can bring your own bike on the ferry or rent one of your own for a small fee. Bikes of all kinds of are available including bikes for small kids so even young kids can have fun.
