Ibiza Transportation- Taxi, Train, Bus & Airport Tips

Ibiza Transportation

Read these tips to improve your transportation experience while visiting Ibiza and surrounding areas.

Taxis and Cabs

The standard Aircon taxis are large and comfortable. If you’re being picked up or dropped off at the airport then there is a surcharge, but they make sure traffic moves smoothly and quickly. Official taxis are well marked.

Buses

The drivers are polite, the seating is comfortable and the routes are fairly simple. You can find the station 6-7 blocks from the marina. There’s a Disco bus service that runs at night that many use to go bar hopping.

Ferries

There are four ferry companies operating in the area. Travel by sea is an enjoyable way to travel the coastline and islands. Many regular ferries frequent Ibiza. Most accommodate cars and trucks, but there are also some smaller ones that can take you to and from closer marinas.

Cars, Mopeds and Motorcycles

You can hire a driver for the day or rent your own small vehicle. Either way offers a lot of travel and sightseeing for your money. If you hire a driver there’s the benefit of a locals advice on the best spots to sight see. Parking can be tricky so be aware that you might spend some time looking for spots and walking. Small vehicles are a good way to explore the territory. If you’re new to traveling in Europe you might want to ask about the proper way to open a gas tank. Use caution when driving at night as there is a lot of foot traffic.

Flights

You can use scheduled or charter flights all over Europe. There are no frills flights you can charter for fairly inexpensive, but if you’re sharing a room or sharing accommodations then a scheduled flight can be the cheapest.
