Davao, seems to be the mecca of malls and shopping. And not just malls, but huge malls.

Malls and Shopping Centers

There’s a mall every 3 or 4 miles filled with shoppers. The shops are loaded with fair priced merchandise, and the food courts are awesome. While browsing you discover the history and culture of Davao.

Giasano is a modern 4 story mall – with a great variety of stores and products to choose from. For example: a pair of blue jeans cost $10, inclusive of custom altering (done while you wait). The perfume store will customize a fragrance for you. They have anything and everything.

NCCC Supermarket, located in the heart of the city, is a 4 – story complex with a bowling alley, hardware, 4 cinemas, and lots of shops and restaurants.

Aldevinco is the largest Shopping Center for buying local crafts and cultural products. They also sell other Mindanao region products, plus, items imported from Indonesia and Malaysia.

Located between two of Davao’s busiest thoroughfare’s, Aldevinco has about 100 stores and stalls around the 8,370 square meter one level shopping area. It’s a souvenir shopper’s paradise, but be ready to haggle, the merchandise has high-markup prices.

Souvenir and Gift Shops

The Souvenir Shop of the Davao Crocodile Park is a large stall and sells a variety of local crafts and food. They sell a variety of crocodile leather products, such as leather wallets, bags, key chains, belts, etc. The Souvenir shop has fair prices and on some items they are cheaper than the airport and the other malls, such as, the Altura Arabica Coffee from the hinterlands of Mount Apo and the local Civet Cat Coffee.

There are several small souvenir shops around the 12 hectare Malagos Garden Resort. These shops sell assorted local crafts and the Malagos Garden Souvenir’s like T-shirts, refrigerator magnets, Malagos wood carvings, key chains, and goat cheese.

Fruit Stalls at Magsaysay Park

The Magsaysay Avenue fruit stalls face the Magsaysay Park in downtown Davao. They sell Durian, the hard to find Marang fruit, assorted pomelos, and some local Mangosteen. Plus, the usual Durian related products, like, Durian candies, Yema, Durian jam, Durian pastillas, Durian Hopia, and Mangosteen candies. Be ready to haggle for the best deal.
