Bondi Beach Transportation – Taxi, Train, Bus & Airport Tips

Bondi Beach Transportation

An eclectic, fun beach with colorful murals and great waves, a day at the legendary Bondi Beach is a must do when you visit Australia in warm weather. Transportation options to Bondi Beach include taking the bus, train, and car.

Train and Bus

You can get to Bondi Beach taking a train and bus combination. From central Sydney stations Circular Quay and Central, catch a train to Bondi Junction. From Bondi Junction, you can take several local bus lines or walk about 25 minutes to the beach.

You can also take the 380 bus from Sydney, which goes all the way to Bondi Beach. The bus is the cheapest way travel, but it takes longer to get there.

Rental Car

You can rent a car from several companies in Sydney. One company many travelers recommend is Budget Rent a Car. Be aware that beach parking is expensive and can be difficult. If you find space, Bondi Beach parking costs at least $5 an hour. Parking meters are slightly cheaper, but you need to feed them every two hours. You can also park at the The Swiss Grand’s 24-hour underground parking lot for up to $30 a day on weekends.

If you’re willing to walk ten minutes to the beach, try to get free parking at the Bondi Lawn Bowling Club.

If you know a local Bondi Beach resident, you can borrow their parking permit. Alternatively, if you plan to visit many times, you can also get your own temporary permit for $312 for three months.
