The Metro has taken what was left behind and made it into a very cool club. Their workable ceiling fans are airplane propellers from left behind Soviet MiGS. Lots of people on the dance floor and busy until 3am on midweek days! They play quite a bit of 1980s dance music, Michael Jackson and Madonna seem to be the favorites. The Golden Bull – always busy, beer for about 2 dollars, friendly security, foreigner friendly. It’s a smaller club so you can mix and mingle more and music is mostly 1970’s disco. Promzona is a friendly Russian rock club that has live music by local musicians on the weekends. Huge drink menu but more expensive than most clubs. GQ Exclusive has a lighted dance floor, blasting a mix of disco, dance music and Russian heavy metal. Weeknights they have a show with girls dancing on the bar top which is sometime the bartender douses it with vodka and lights it up.

Pubs and Bars

Albion Inn is a true English style pub run by a British expat. Mostly frequented by other British expats as they stream all of the English League football. The Burger House has the only pub quiz night in the country. They mostly serve local beer on tap and good burgers. Heaven is a bar with a very small dance floor. Mostly its locals coming in to discuss politics and watch the girls perfecting their dance style. A favorite of travelers, expats and locals is the laid back vibe at the Center Bar, It had a nice terrace to watch the world go by. A good place for coffees, beers and singing Kyrgyz karaoke.
