Yerevan is one of the oldest inhabited cities in the world, first built around the year 800 BC. It is the capital of Armenia and is located at the base of Mount Ararat along the Hrazdan River. Besides its view of the mountains, the city is also home to a large number of museums, galleries, and libraries. If you are planning a visit to Yerevan, here are some transportation tips to help you get around.

Take the Bus From the Airport 

Take a right out of the airport and you will run into the bus station. Buses 17 and 18 will take you from the airport into the town of Yerevan. There are multiple stops along the route and the trip takes about an hour. Beware that the wait might be a little long when you are going from the town to the airport on your way home.

Stepanakert 

one popular day trip while you are in Yerevan is a trip to Stepanakert. This trip is best accomplished via a minibus and the trip takes about six hours in each direction. There are both mini buses and regular buses available for this trip that leaves each day early in the morning. There are multiple buses departing each morning.

Take a Walk 

There are many convenient ways to get around the city, but it is also a good idea to take a walk. After all, you can’t truly explore a city without taking a walk. This an especially good way to take in the city center in the middle of town. They are quite accommodating to tourists in the area by providing signs in English to help guide them around.
