Twin Falls Things to Do – Attractions & Must See

Twin Falls Things to Do

Twin Falls Idaho is best-known for its natural surroundings, amazing landscape and recreational activities but there are some other things to do too.

Shoshone Falls

Shoshone Falls gained the nickname “Niagara of the West” by early settlers and today is a big attraction in Twin Falls area. The falls are 212 feet high, taller than Niagara Falls, but not as wide as its eastern counterpart. In the summer water is diverted for irrigation, so there may not be water flowing during this season. To see the falls you enter through a state park, admission is charged per car. The park is very clean with picnic areas, restrooms, trails and lookouts, along with other recreational opportunities (i.e. fishing and boating). There’s a small tourist shop too.

Snake River Canyon

The Snake River has carved through the canyon walls over the centuries and created the natural beauty of cliffs and river. There are many viewpoints along the canyon. At sunset, this is a wondrous sight to behold with the glimmering water shining like gold from the setting sun. This place is a photographer’s dream, especially in the late afternoon and at sunset. A great vantage point is at the Visitor’s Center just before the Perrine Bridge.

The Perrine Bridge

The Perrine Bridge is the only manmade structure that allows you to jump off the bridge from a height of 486 feet to the Snake River below without a permit. Of course, you’ll need proper gear, parachute advised, so you can land safely. Not for the fainthearted.

Downtown

Downtown Twin Falls is worth a visit. While it’s not large, there are some interesting buildings to see, good places to eat and some nice shops. Once you get through the new shopping district and head towards the older section of Twin Falls you will find some intact vintage storefronts that bring you back to another time.
