Tips on Israel Warnings or Dangers – Stay Safe!

Israel Warnings and Dangers

Israel is a Jewish state. Be mindful of local customs when visiting. From jellyfish to dress codes, there are things to take into account during your trip.

Jellyfish Season

From mid-July to mid-August, Israel’s beaches are home to large schools of beaches on their way north. While not as dangerous as some other types, these jellyfish can give you a sting. Avoid touching them and get immediate medical attention if you get stung.

Watch Your Luggage

No matter where you are, watch your bags. Security is tight here. Unattended bags are regarded with huge suspension.

The Workweek

The Israeli workweek runs from Sunday to Thursday. Many parts of the country shut down on Friday and Saturday. Expect decreased public bus service and early closing hours even in some of the more secular places like Tel Aviv. If you are planing to tour the Knesset, the Israeli parliament, bring appropriately conservative clothing. On the Israeli sabbath, observant Jews are not supposed to do any work. Don’t be surprised when the elevator stops at every floor.

Passport Stamps

Many majority Muslim countries in the Middle East bar completely people from visiting their nation if are Israeli nationals or have spent any time in Israel. Consider putting this nation at the end of your itinerary after you’ve gone anywhere else in this area. You can also get a temporary stamp that you can take out. Find out if you need a visa to get into any other countries such as Egypt for a short time and keep it on hand.
