Salamanca Shopping – Shops, Stores, Best Buys, and Inside Tips

Salamanca Shopping

A variety of novelty stores, souvenir shops, and retail clothing stores make Salamanca a great place to shop, with something for everyone.

Souvenirs and Sweets

Mostly located around the Plaza Mayor, Salamanca souvenir shops sell many nice, but expensive items. Chordi carries an expensive collection of artistic objects, photos, paintings, glassware, and ceramics. The Casa Lis Museum Shop has good quality replicas of many of the items on display at the museum. Many street vendors sell jewelry, crafts, books, and things of that nature in the Plaza Mayor. There are a few shops in the Plaza Mayor area that sell little cakes, pastries, and other dessert items. These Spanish sweets are usually small and make great snacks.

Clothes

Along the streets leading to the Plaza Mayor, stores such as Zara, Xesta, Vero Moda, and Stradivarius carry the latest in fashion. Mango, located on Rua de Toros, also has a huge selection of clothing and some great sales. A little shop near the Plaza Mayor called La Boutique Del Torero sells Flamenco shoes, embroidered shawls, fans, hair ornaments and other Flamenco dance needs. For the boys, they also carry bullfighting items. Every street in Salamanca has at least one shoe store. Like the shoe stores, perfume stores are everywhere in Salamanca and stock just about every brand imaginable. Salamanca also has several shopping malls. One, located in the same building as the train station, has a few clothing stores, a music store, a book store, a movie theater, and several places to eat.
