Saint Petersburg Souvenirs and Other Shopping

Shopping in Saint Petersburg: Souvenirs

Souvenirs and keepsakes are easily found in Saint Petersburg, even in some unlikely places!

Churches

Many churches, such as the Church of the Savior on Spilled Blood, have souvenir shops inside the church. Church souvenirs are more likely to be religious items such as crosses and small icons. You may also find some jewelry, wooden folk dolls or reproductions of Faberge eggs.

Aurora Ship

Aurora Ship is a popular attraction in Saint Petersburg and a large gift stand is right there as well. Along with the typical souvenirs and keepsakes that you can find all over the city, there are also some distinctive items at Aurora Ships shop, including sailor shirts and captain caps.

Babushka

The shop is broken up into three floors, the main floor is home to postcards, books and other items to interest tourists. The lower, basement level, houses toys, Christmas items, music boxes, and lacquerware. Finally, the upper level features pieces of art. The shop attendants keep a close eye on visitors to make sure nothing goes missing, but they are also happy to help customers. Some of the most beautiful items at Babushka are music boxes and lacquerware. The music boxes are fashioned after the cathedrals of St. Basil and the Church of the Saviour on the Spilled Blood. The lacquerware is painted in red, bold and black and they come in a wide range of shapes and sizes for reasonable prices. One of the nicest things about shopping at Babushka is that the store will package and ship your purchased items home and they have stamps for the postcards you purchase!
