The beaches are warm while the mountains have skiing and charming villages. However, the Troodos Mountains tend to be much colder all year round. You’ll want to bring bathing suits for the beaches and then cool gear for the mountains.

Formal and Informal

Historic churches are all over Cyprus. If you’re planning to spend time touring them, you’ll want to make sure you’re dressed properly before you enter. Women should bring a formal dress with long-sleeves while men put on long trousers as they may not let you enter in the places otherwise. The same is true for many monasteries in the mountains. Bring shoes that will protect your feet from the stones. Sunscreen is a must as well as a small rutsack for essentials like a water bottle and a thick blanket if you don’t want to pay for seating.
