Markets, Fuengirola Insider Tips

Markets

When visiting Fuengirola, be sure to do some shopping at the Market. Fuengirola is one of the most important craft centers of the Spanish province of Málaga, where a large number of craftsman from around Europe sell their wares.

The Fuengirola Market

The Fuengirola Market is the largest of Andalusia and one of the most important in all of Spain. All types of objects and souvenirs can be purchased in a fun, and lively atmosphere. The Market is only open on Tuesdays and Saturdays, and depending on which day you go, you’ll experience a different compilation of vendors.

Tuesday Market

On Tuesdays, the vendors at the Fuengirola will be selling high end goods such as pottery, gold, silver, jewelry, leather goods, wood furniture, fruit, vegetables, and clothes, all at reasonable prices. If you visit on a Tuesday, you’ll be able to purchase not just Spanish souvenirs, as a variety of vendors come to Fuengirola from across Europe.

Saturday Market

On Saturdays, expect a flea market with vendors selling used goods and second hand items. You’re still likely to find unique items however, making it worth the trip on Saturdays.

Traveling to the Market

The Fuengirola Market takes up a large expanse of the area near Los Boliches, and is conveniently located a short walking distance from the train stop. If you ride the train, get off at the stop for “Los Boliches.” From there, you’ll be very close to the market. If you have any questions as to which way to go, simply ask passersby how to get to the market, or “Mercaillo” or “Recinto Ferial.”  There are also bus routes that will drop you off right at the market entrance.
