Hanoi Shopping – Shops, Stores, Best Buys & Inside Tips

Hanoi Shopping

Looking for souvenirs and trinkets from your trip to Vietnam for your friends and family back home? Hanoi is the perfect spot to shop until you drop.

Old Quarter

The Old Quarter features streets lined with shops that offer everything from keepsakes and garments to original art. The area isn’t overly touristy, but it does offer a great variety of Vietnamese items.

Trang Tien Plaza

This high-end plaza is located across from Hoan Kiem Lake. The plaza has several floors where shoppers can wander and make purchases. The first floor features watches and electronics such as cameras. The top floor features a supermarket and other food vendors.

Van Phuc

Known as silk village, Van Phuc is full of shops that sell silk clothing or the fabric itself. As with most vendors in Vietnam, you can bargain over the prices in the silk village, however, most of the vendors do not speak English. If you have a Vietnamese friend or translator to take shopping with you, they can help you bargain.

Dong Xuan Market

This is the biggest market in Hanoi, the building is three stories and if you bargain well, you can get some amazing deals. Hats and local crafts are located on the first floor and include tea sets, chopsticks, key chains and much more.

Hanoi Night Market

Only open on Friday, Saturday, and Sunday nights, the Hanoi night market is a must see. Vendors will often sell items for much cheaper at the night market, and they will bargain over their goods. Everything from shoes to fashion to art can be found at the night market and the area is completely closed off to traffic.
