Bermuda Things to Do – Attractions & Must See

Bermuda: Things to Do

Chances are you’ll arrive at King’s Wharf when you get to Bermuda. A historic place in itself, this is where you’ll begin your adventures on the island.

Beaches

If you’re in Bermuda, you are probably here to see the amazing coastlines with pink sand. There are a number of beaches all over the island, Horseshoe Bay is one of the most popular and famous beaches on the island. Travelers love to walk the shores, swim and snorkel along Bermuda’s shores.

History and Culture

Visit the capital city of Hamilton and see the old fort, Royal Naval Dockyard and tour the National Museum of Bermuda and learn about the British Naval history associated with the island. While you’re here there is also the Dolphin Quest where you can get up close and personal with these beautiful animals.

On the other side of the island, the historic town center of St. George has a lot to see, if you take a walking tour you’ll learn about local history and culture. St. Peter’s Church is the oldest church on the island (1713) and its still active. Within its sacred walls is a Bible from 1594, a 1625 chalice and the oldest piece of furniture on the island, the mahogany altar. See the “unfinished church”, the church designed to replace St. Peter’s but was never completed. It’s now an island landmark.

Other Fun

There are plenty of excursions, tours and other outings during a visit to Bermuda. Some ideas are:

  • Tour the perfumery
  • Visit Crystal Caves (Hamilton)
  • See other smaller caves throughout the island
  • Ride a glass-bottomed boat
  • See the world’s smallest drawbridge in Somerset Village

There is a ferry between St. George from Hamilton that is air conditioned, or you can sit on the top deck and enjoy the sun. The ferry system is a wonderful way to go sight-seeing. Additionally, there are plenty of shops throughout the island and a number of pubs to sit back, have a drink and relax.
