Worcester Things to Do – Attractions & Must See

Worcester Things to Do

Located in the heart of England, Worcester is rich in culture and history. We have put together a short list of must see attractions while visiting Worcester.

Guildhall

This 18th century building has a beautifully painted facade and the entire exterior is adorned with statues of historically significant rulers of England. Statues include King Charles I, Queen Anne, and King Charles II. Tourists are encourage to stop at Guildhall to gather tourist information, but also to pop into the cafe for a quick refreshment. Guildhall is open to meetings or as a private venue for special events.

Worcester Cathedral

A church has existed on the site of Worcester Cathedral since the 7th century. The building that we see today was constructed between the 12th and 13th century. Built as a Norman Gothic styled cathedral, the church still has elements of an English layout including a tower with transepts, chapter house, and cloisters. The cloisters are enclosed and surround a beautiful courtyard which is one of the cathedral’s main attractions to visit. The cathedral also still contains the Norman crypt below. Admission to the cathedral is free but there is a small fee to enter the tower. Tourists are also required to purchase a permit for any photography.

Museum of Royal Worcester

At the museum, visitors can tour the Royal Worcester Porcelain factory. Audio tours are available for a small fee and visitors can walk through the museum learning about the process for making pottery. Visitors can even see the artists hand painting pieces of pottery.  The museum is open for tours during the week but is closed for tours on the weekend.
