Tips on Perth Warnings or Dangers – Stay Safe!

Perth Warnings and Dangers

From small bars to spacious urban villages, Perth is a beautiful place to visit and the largest city within Western Australia. In spite of its beauty, there are many dangers and warnings you should be aware of when traveling.

Evading Wildlife on the Road

When traveling in the suburbs, it’s not uncommon to come across wildlife running across the road at night. If this happens, try to avoid swerving, which can land you in another lane of traffic or in the ditch. Instead break hard and try to miss the animal. If you do hit a marsupial, pull over and check it out. Many times these animals are hit with young babies still in their pouches. If you find live babies, wrap them in a towel or blanket and take them to the nearest vet.

Avoid the Train at Night

Perth is a safe city for the most part, but there are some train lines that it is best to avoid unless you are with a group of people. The Armadale line can get scary at night with some intimidating individuals on the ride. Other spots to avoid traveling to at night include Rockingham, Victoria Park and Kwinana.

Don’t Explore With Your Pets

Whether you have a service animal or simply take your dog with you everywhere, you should leave your pet at home or in the hotel when you explore the forests and reserves. Foxes and feral cats are plentiful and game wardens have developed poison that affects these animals as well as dogs. Forests and reserves are fatal to your pets.

Take Care at the Ocean

The ocean is unpredictable in Perth and can cause injury to those who are unaware. Don’t stand on the large rocks at the water’s edge or you may get knocked off in an instant.
