Sydney Nightlife – Clubs, Bar & Nightlife Tips

Sydney Nightlife

Sydney has a great nightlife with pubs, clubs, jazz venues, dinner shows, dinner cruises, and, of course, the famous Sydney Opera House.

Bars and Pubs

For live bands on the weekend, try Kings Cross or the Basement. The Marble Bar has an intimate atmosphere. Low lighting, Nuevo Tech music, and individual bar areas (instead of tables), make it a great place sit back, sip your wine, and enjoy good conversation. Bartender Magazine awarded Bridge Bar the title of Australia’s Cocktail Bar of the Year. Huge glass windows provide a great view of Sydney Harbor for the thirty-something crowd. Housed in the Novotel Menzies, the Piano Bar is a throwback to Sydney’s glamor days. The clientele is mostly older people and hotel guests. The Century Tavern has pool tables and serves cheap drinks.

Clubs

Launched in 2001, Tank is a favorite spot for local and international club-goers. Three Wise Monkeys features live music seven days a week. Try the more fashionable “Establishment” for an upscale evening out. For live jazz, and a huge cocktail list, check out Industrie South of France. The intimate Tonic features DJ music in a comfortable setting. Romantics will appreciate the atmosphere of The Victorian Room. You’ll always get a seat at Bar333, where they serve food and cocktails upstairs and have pool tables in the sports bar downstairs. The Spanish Club is an old three-story building with gambling on the bottom floor, a Spanish restaurant on the second floor, and Latin dance club on the top floor.
