Seoul Hip Hop Clubs and Other Nightlife

Walking on the streets of Hongdae, you hear the vibrations, beats and the music coming from the clubs. When you get into the madness, the great remixes and the sweet tunes you might end up dancing until dawn!

Club Arena

There are many clubs in Korea, especially in the posh Gangnam district. However, Club Arena is the most exclusive club in Korea, and Korea’s socialites and celebrities are frequently spotted there. The music is mainstream EDM, but it’s the atmosphere and the crowd that differentiates club Arena from other clubs.

If you are looking for genuine, local top-of-the-notch nightlife fun, club Arena is a must.

Hard Rock Cafe

Most HRC’s are set up as restaurants with outrageous decor and music memorabilia. This one is totally different. It has a big dance floor, a DJ set up on a stage and intimate seating throughout the place.

B One

Located in the heart of Itaewon, under the Hamilton Hotel, B One is one of the area’s best nightclubs. The club is okay before midnight, but the club really starts to rock after 1 am. On many weekend nights it will stay open until the sun comes up.

Drinks are relatively expensive, but tou won’t find another club equal to B One in the heart of Itaewon.

JJ Mahoney’s at the Hyatt

Pros: Lots of beautiful people, and many of the patrons and the entire staff speak English. There are two sections, one with a live band, another with dance floor and hip hop music. There’s also an outdoor patio. Good music.

Cons: Prices. Heineken everwhere else is 5,000-7,000 won (USD 4-6), here it’s 13,000 (USD 11). Long Island Iced Teas are 14,500. Have a few (or many) drinks before coming here, for sure. The subway doesn’t run this far. The closest stop is Itaewon (Line 6) – you’ll have to take a cab from there.
