Nice – What to Pack- Clothing and Supplies Tips

Nice – What to Pack

At the Nice Tourist Board website, you can request maps and various guides about Nice that will be sent to your home address so that you can plan out your trip in advance and save some time.

Luggage

No matter what you have planned for your French Riviera adventure, these luggage options are ideal for a short or long-term stay.

Layers

The weather can be unpredictable, so wear layered clothing. Bring a bag to stuff your jacket into when it gets hot, carry an extra sweater and store an umbrella, sunscreen and whatever.

Clothes to Pack

Brochures

The various brochures you can get from the Nice Tourist Board are slim and light-weight and easier to carry than a guide book. There are guides to restaurants, museums, places to stay and an excellent ‘Practical Guide’ brochure and a good map. The web reference won’t take you straight to the on-line order from so you will have to hunt on their website to find the correct page.

Adaptors

If you’re coming from the United Kingdom or the Unites States, adaptors to fit your typically three-pin plugs into the European standard of two-pin sockets are absolutely necessary. Unless of course, you want to undo your electronic leash by not being able to charge your cell phone or tablet.

Electronics to Pack

Beach Time

The Cote d’Azur is famous for it’s micro-climate of warm winters and warm summers. Sunshine can be very bright, so bring sunglasses or a hat.

Footwear

Bring sandals for the long beach along Baie des Anglais. The beach has some artificial sand spots for children to play in, but it mainly consists of small, rounded boulders. Also bring proper walking shoes. Sandals may be good for the beach, but they’ll be uncomfortable when walking on cobblestone streets. If you have new shoes, bring band-aid in case of blisters.
