Nassau Things to Do – Attractions & Must See

Nassau Things to Do

Nassau is a popular tourist destination due to its tropical climate and beautiful landscape. When visiting Nassau, consider the following attractions when looking for things to do!

Atlantis Aquarium

The Atlantis Aquarium is simply amazing! If you are not staying at the Atlantis hotel and want to avoid the entry fee, know the color wristband Atlantis is using that day and get one that matches.  The Aquarium is called “The Dig” and wraps around the hotel with all sorts of sea life on display. They have one of the biggest, best stingrays I have ever seen on the screen or in the water as well as an amazing shark display and eel display. If you are not staying at the Atlantis resort, the $45 USD admission is a bit steep for the approximately 30 minutes it takes to walk through. In addition to the main tanks and shark tank, the aquarium also boasts the largest open air aquarium in the world and certainly the largest aquarium of its kind in the Caribbean. The 2.7 million-gallon Ruins Lagoon is home to more than 20,000 deep reef and pelagic fish such as a variety of jacks, snappers, and spiny lobster. They swim against a backdrop of “artifacts’ that might have been found in the lost city of Atlantis if such a thing really existed.

Atlantis Resort at Paradise Island

The Atlantis Resort is a beautiful place to check out even if you aren’t staying there. In addition to the popular aquarium, the grounds are breathtaking, there are multiple restaurants, a beach club and a casino to name only a few highlights.  A ferry will take you to Atlantis where, on the way, you can see famous houses and enjoy the pristine waters. Choose from multiple tours and activities at Atlantis, enjoy the aquarium or relax at the beach club and enjoy a cocktail. Be sure to make it back before the last ferry leaves for the day!

Blue Lagoon Island

Take a scenic boat ride to Blue Lagoon Island, also known as Salt Cay, where you can swim in a calm lagoon, ride a segway, relax on the beach, participate in water sports, observe dolphins and sea lions at play or simply relax in a hammock and watch the palm trees sway.
