When you are on holiday knowing the locations to visit is great, but knowing what to avoid could make all of the difference in your adventure. Here are some tips to help you while on your Ireland getaway.

Midleton Distillery

The Jameson Experience is a guided tour that really embraces Ireland’s culture and history. See the triple distillery process in ages casks before sipping on a sample of the fine Irish Whiskey in their cocktail lounge.

Blarney Castle

Blarney Castle is a 600 year old Ireland favorite. It is cloaked n Irelands own folklore and magic. Kiss the blarney stone located at the top of the tower.Explore the garden, sand check out the enchanted Rock Close. Don’t forget to drop by Witches Stone, but do it early, as she is said to escape her prison after night falls.

St Finbarr’s Cathedral

Cork Cathedral is a Gothic inspired, non-Catholic church which was constructed in 1863 and refurbishment was comleated in the 20th century. You pay only if you are there to visit. Those coming for prayer get free admission to the chapel. If you want a guided tour you can check in at the gift shop. Those seeking a Catholic Cathedral should see St. Mary’s or St. Anne’s in Northern Shandon.

Shopping / Streets / Areas

There are plenty of great shops in Cork, but don’t eat before you go. You will definitely want to stop at some of the diners while you shop on St. Patrics Street. Plunkett Street is a must see at night. Remember, the English Market is not open on Sundays and is open from 8a.m.-6p.m. otherwise.

Kinsale

You can take a 40 minute trip from Cork to Kinsale which is a harbor city.

Cork City Gaol

This is a must see, but be sure that you have thorough directions before heading out to Cork City Goal. It can be a bit tricky to find, but it is definitely worth the effort.
