Located a short distance from Lisbon: Cascais, Portugal can easily be reached by taxis or train. The local bus service also offers convenient transportation around Cascais to ensure an effortless sightseeing experience.

Lisbon Portela Airport

The closest airport to Cascais is the Lisbon Portela Airport. An Aerobus is conveniently available to take travelers from the airport to the Cais do Sodré Train Station. Be prepared for the Aerobus to be packed with fellow travelers, and as always, safeguard your belongings.

Cascais by Train

From Cais do Sodres, take the 20 to 30-minute train directly to Cascais. Reaching Cascais by train is quick, easy, and inexpensive and allows you to enjoy the stunning ocean views outside your window. Be careful taking the train at night. There have been reports of gangs boarding the train in large groups to rob passengers. Consider taking the taxi at night instead.

By Bus

The Cascais Bus Station is just north of the train station underneath the Centro Comercial Cascais Villa. Busses conveniently depart about every 15 to 20 minutes during the day. There are also buses traveling to the nearby, popular tourist town of Sintra. Most of the buses also stop in Cabo da Roca.

Reaching Cascais by Taxis

If you arrive late at night, or are in a hurry, a convenient way to reach Cascais from the Lisbon Portela Airport is by Taxi. While more expensive than the train, the taxi ride is quick and convenient. A taxi is also a reliable option for your early morning trip back to the Lisbon Portela Airport the day you travel back home.
