Cancun What to Pack – Clothing and Supplies Tips

Cancun What to Pack

People travel to places like Cancun for lots of different reasons – to relax on the beach, to explore local culture, or to party over spring break. No matter your reasons for traveling, these are the absolute must-haves when you’re going to Cancun.

If you are going to Cancun from another country than Mexico, you’ll have to travel through customs, which can be a complicated process. If at all possible, just pack a carry-on bag, as this will make going through customs much less complex.

Luggage

No matter what you have planned for your Cancun adventure, these luggage options are ideal for a short or long-term stay.

Clothes

Light clothes are best in the sometimes downright hot weather in Cancun. So loose dresses are best, and shorts and t-shirts. It’s always good to have at least one nice outfit for a nice dinner. If you plan to go out and party, don’t worry so much about having nice clothes as the nightlife scene is very casual.

Clothes to Pack

Shoes

The weather in Cancun is always warm, so you probably only need two to three pairs of shoes. One pair of sandels for the beach, one pair of dress shoes for nice dinners (awesome if you can combine these!) and one pair of closed toed tennis shoes for any exploring

Other gear

One invaluable accessory are those headbands that soak up water and swell up to a tube that you can tie around your neck or head. On a hot day, having one of those on can keep you from fainting from the heat. Just turn it over every 15 minutes, and you’ll have a cool side again.

Most hotels have shampoos and soaps for free in your room. If you aren’t picky, these can save you space in your suitcase, and save you from having to pull out yet another thing if you are carrying your bag through security.
